The following are instructions designed to guide you through removing the Enterprise edition of McAfee Endpoint Security from self-managed, university-owned machines running Mac OS only.
Note: If your computer is managed by UMass Amherst IT, do not attempt to remove the client on your own. Please contact your administrator.
Make bootable usb for mac from pc. McAfee Endpoint Security for Mac (ENSM) 10.x macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 and later. The alert notifies you that the McAfee Endpoint Security for Mac application is not optimized for your Mac: 'McAfee Endpoint Security for Mac' is not optimized for your Mac. This issue is resolved in ENSM 10.5.5, which has native 64-bit binaries.

Mcafee Security For Microsoft Exchange
- In the upper right corner of your screen, click the Spotlight Search icon in the menu bar. Type Terminal and press Enter to launch a Terminal window.
- In the Terminal window, type 'sudo su' and press Enter. Enter your computer's administrator password.
- In the Terminal window, type '/usr/local/McAfee/uninstall EPM3' and press Enter.
Note: 'EPM3' refers to the product version. If EPM3 doesn't work, try EPM, EPM1, and/or EPM2 for earlier versions. If these do not work, try EPM4, EPM5, etc. until the command runs succesfully. - In the Terminal window, type 'sudo /Library/McAfee/cma/scripts/uninstall.sh' andpress Enter. Enter your computer's administrator password.
- Fully reboot the computer.
- After rebooting, follow step 1 again to launch a Terminal window.
- In the Terminal window, type each of the following commands, pressing Enter after each:
- 'cd /usr/local/'
- 'rm -rf McAfee/'
- 'cd /Library/LaunchDaemons/'
- 'rm -rf com.mcafee.*'
- 'cd /Library/LaunchAgents/'
- 'rm -rf com.mcafee.*'
- 'cd /Library/Preferences/'
- 'rm -rf com.mcafee.*'
- Fully reboot the computer.
Mcafee Internet Security For Mac
- McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator — The version that McAfee Endpoint Security extension supports. McAfee Agent — 5.5.1 with Hotfix HF1248290 or later. McAfee® Endpoint Security extensions — McAfee Endpoint Security ePO extension update 10.6.1: Endpoint Security platform extension 10.6.1.1105.
- Click the McAfee menulet in the menu bar (at the top of the screen near the clock) and select McAfee Internet Security - Internet Security Console. Click Mac Security, and then click Firewall. Click the lock and type your administrator password if prompted. Click the drop-down arrow beside Type: and change the option from Public to Home or Work.
